Hydrological Monitoring System

Hydrological Monitoring System is a system which measures, automatically as well as continuously monitors and transmits data to management center showing systematically the parameters which express the state, phenomena, processes of the atmosphere, river water, streams, canals, lakes, seas, etc.

Hydrological Monitoring helps to monitor, identify, evaluate, and forecast the weather, climate in a specified area as well as the trend of climate changes in the future; besides, provide information for forecasting and warning hydrometeorology, dangerous and extraordinary natural disasters that affect or damage to people, properties, the environment, from that, make timely response planning as well as meet the requirements in environmental management of central and local governments.

Hydrological Monitoring System must comply with current regulations, specifically – Circular 08/2021/TT-BTNMT dated 30th June 2021 National technical regulation on Marine Observation and Circular 70/2015/TT-BTNMT dated 23rd December 2015 on technical regulations for the Automatic hydro-meteorological gauges with basic components as follow:

Basic components

  • Equipment for measuring parameters such as the speed and direction of the wind, temperature, air humidity, solar radiation, atmospheric pressure, precipitation, water level, water flow, suspended matter content, wave measurement, salinity, etc.
  • Substation and auxiliary systems including electrical cabinets, lightning protection devices, equipment pylons / buoys, etc.).
  • Collection and transmission data devices (dataloggers).
