Environmental Monitoring in Industrial Operations: A Practical Challenge

In industrial production and resource extraction, wastewater is not merely a byproduct—it is a critical component of environmental risk management. Effective monitoring requires systems capable of delivering high-precision data, operating continuously under demanding conditions, and providing timely insights to support operational decisions.

To meet these requirements, Dong Bac Corporation – Ministry of National Defence implemented an automated wastewater monitoring system across its plants in Quang Ninh Province. The initiative aims to ensure transparency in environmental data, strengthen compliance, and enable more proactive environmental control over the long term.

Within this project, Thanh Thien acts as the technical partner, responsible for system deployment and sustained operational support.

System Overview

Engineered for continuous operation, the system delivers a consistent stream of reliable data, forming a robust foundation for environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance.

System Deployment

The project involved installing and operating 13 automated monitoring stations across multiple plants. Each station is equipped with specialized instruments designed to measure and record environmental parameters in real time.

From the outset, the system architecture was defined by three core principles:

• Data integrity, ensuring accuracy and reliability of all measurements
• Operational resilience, maintaining stable performance in industrial environments
• Data continuity, enabling uninterrupted monitoring over extended periods

Following commissioning, structured maintenance and technical support activities have been implemented to ensure long-term system stability and performance.

Initially deployed in 2020–2021, the system is sustained through ongoing maintenance and periodic technical support.

Through close coordination between stakeholders, the monitoring network remains fully operational—ensuring that environmental data is not only consistently available, but also actionable and trustworthy.
